1:72 Italeri 1455 - Fokker F-27 Maritime Patrol 1455

The twin-engined Fokker F-27 Friendship was developed during the 1950s by the Dutch aircraft manufacturer to provide a valid successor to the old traditional piston engine Douglas DC-3 in service since World War II. The Fokker F-27 was an immediate commercial success in civilian and military use and was even built under license in the United States. Thanks to the two Rolls-Royce 2,250 Hp turbo engines, the Fokker managed to reach a maximum speed of 460 Km/h. Since the start of its production, it has been adopted by many airlines who found it the best solution for short-haul routes. The adoption of two turboprop engines, compared to traditional piston engines, reduced vibration and provided improved comfort on board. The plane was very versatile and was widely used for cargo operations, troop transport duties and maritime patrol.
