A small owl species endemic to the woods of North America, Mexico, and Canada, the eastern screech owl is made up of five different subspecies. They can often be found in urban areas, and have adapted well to living alongside humans.
Scientific Name: Megascops asio
Characteristics: The eastern screech owl travels mostly under the cover of darkness, and hunts during the nighttime hours. Hopefully this beautifully hand painted model doesn’t flutter around too much at night, and instead lets you get some sleep!
Size and Color: Standing 12 cm tall and 12.5 cm long, both dimensions of this model are about the same size as the height of a soda can. Eastern screech owls can be many different colors, although they are most commonly a mixture of brown, tan, black, and white.
