The P-Series is a special collection in model making that focuses on aircraft and vehicles that only existed on the drawing board. This series highlights the "what if" scenarios of aviation history and offers collectors and aviation enthusiasts an exciting insight into alternative designs. The AR555, as part of this series, epitomises a visionary design from the mid-20th century and expresses the progressive ideas and technical dreams of the era. The P-Series - AR555 model kit is therefore more than just a hobby project; it is a key to a world full of innovations and unrealised visions in aviation history.

Το Arado Ar.555 ήταν ένα έργο ενός γερμανικού στρατηγικού βομβαρδιστικού σε διάταξη ιπτάμενου πτερυγίου από τον Δεύτερο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Η πρόωση επρόκειτο να παρέχεται από 6 κινητήρες τζετ BMW-003. Το αεροπλάνο έπρεπε να φτάσει σε ταχύτητα - σύμφωνα με διάφορες σχεδιαστικές παραλλαγές - από 860 έως 1020 km / h. Η χωρητικότητα φορτίου των βομβών έπρεπε να φτάσει τα 4.000 κιλά.

Το έργο Arado Ar.555 ανατέθηκε από το Υπουργείο Αεροπορίας, το οποίο ήθελε να αποκτήσει ένα στρατηγικό βομβαρδιστικό ικανό να επιτεθεί σε στόχους στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες από βάσεις στη Γερμανία και στην κατεχόμενη Γαλλία (το λεγόμενο Amerikabomber). Οι εργασίες σχεδιασμού πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο εργοστάσιο του Arado Flugzeugwerke, το οποίο σχετικά γρήγορα υιοθέτησε την ιδέα του ιπτάμενου φτερού και ήθελε να χρησιμοποιήσει κινητήρες τζετ στη μηχανή στόχου. Συνολικά, έως και 11 concepts αυτού του αεροσκάφους δημιουργήθηκαν στο εργοστάσιο του Arado, τα οποία διέφεραν μεταξύ τους κυρίως στον αριθμό των κινητήρων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν. Το έργο Arado Ar.555 I με έξι κινητήρες BMW 003 θεωρήθηκε το πιο επιτυχημένο. Το μηχάνημα, ωστόσο, δεν μπήκε ποτέ στην παραγωγή - επιπλέον, το πρωτότυπο δεν δοκιμάστηκε και το όλο έργο ακυρώθηκε τον Δεκέμβριο του 1944.
